About Us

Hello parents and caregivers! Thank you for your interest in Soar Tutoring. As a South Charlotte mom, I would hear the frustration and concerns of parents who simply wanted to help their children learn. Our company was founded in 2008 in direct response to the community need for talented, N.C. certified instructors who both cared about the unique needs of their child and could develop an educational program custom designed for them. As a N.C. certified special education teacher, I decided to answer this call to action and established Soar Tutoring.

Soar Tutoring provides specialized academic instruction to children of all ability levels. As N.C. certified educators, we design differentiated, multi-sensory programs in Reading/Writing, Math, Test Prep & Study Skills, based on your child’s learning style and current skill set. Sessions can focus on one or any combination of these core academic subjects. In addition to creating fun and engaging sessions for the child, instructors provide lesson plans, session notes and extension activities to parents& caregivers during their mini-conference at the end of each meeting. In this way, parents and caregivers can witness their child’s progress every step of the way and remain confident in the Soar Tutoring difference.

Michelle graduated in 1995 from the University of Georgia with a 5 year degree in Special Education for pre-K through 12th grade. Her unique degree enables her to differentiate instruction to reach all children across the N.C. core curriculum. She taught in both the Atlanta Public School System and the Charlotte Mecklenburg School System before creating Soar Tutoring. She is a strong believer in continuing education and has received certifications in Orton-Gillingham, Handwriting Without Tears, and TEACCH to enhance her educational career
